This short course in radiography theory is designed to support continuing professional development for graduates from non-EU/EEA countries by bridging differences in regulatory, technical, and professional practice standards. It focuses on EU and local Maltese regulatory requirements, contemporary imaging technologies and protocols, and effective communication within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The course ensures that participants align their theoretical knowledge with local legal, technological, and cultural expectations, supporting safe practice and effective integration into Malta’s healthcare system.

The Course shall be open to applicants in possession of a qualification in Radiography deemed suitable by the Board of Studies and recognized at least at Level 6 on the Malta and European Qualifications Frameworks.

Demonstrate knowledge of patient-centred care, including communication, dignity, cultural competence, and ethical/legal frameworks.
Explain pharmacological considerations, infection control, and aseptic techniques relevant to venipuncture, cannulation, and contrast media use
Critically appraise image quality, clinical indications, contraindications, and diagnostic outcomes across imaging modalities
Non EU Applicants:
In academic year 2025/2026, the course is offered exclusively to TCN radiographers employed by the Ministry of Health and Active Ageing
