DESCRIPTION This study unit shall focus on the process of providing professional care when working with different health and care professionals. Various medical conditions that patients may suffer from shall be also tackled in the light of providing them with a good service. The unit shall also emphasize the need for maintaining professional relationships within the workplace. Various problem-solving situations shall be tackled especially when working with teams of professionals in challenging contexts.

Study-Unit Aims:

The unit will provide learners with advanced theoretical understandings of the applied skills and competences required to become effective and professional teachers of health and social care within a vocational context.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- identify medical conditions of service-users;
- describe the pathology of common medical conditions;
- explain the processes of providing professional care when working with different health and social care professionals;
- define the different requirements of people with different dietary requirements;
- critically understand the various processes of maintaining professional relationships within the workplace.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- conduct medical routine procedures;
- problem-solve situations which arise when working with teams of professionals within challenging contexts;
- implement the various stages of processes of providing professional care when working with different health and social care professionals;
- create and develop menus and meals for people with different dietary requirements.
