- Trade Description Act
- Doorstep Contracts Act
- Product Safety Act
- Malta Standards Authority
- Price Indication and Regulation
- Advertising and Promotions Regulations
- Data Protection Act
- Industrial Property and Trademarks
- Import and Export Licensing
- Internet Trade Licensing
- EU Consumer Law
- The EU Four freedoms.

Study-unit Aims:

Marketing relationships are governed by a legal framework which presents opportunities and constraints for the manner in which these relationships can be developed. This study-unit aims to identify and discuss a number of important areas in which the legal environment impinges upon the activities of business organizations.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate their ability to analyze legal problems and provide practical solutions to such problems in connection with the marketing activities of their organisations;
- Critically evaluate the legal rules as they relate to commercial contracts;
- Critically analyze the use of contractual terms and the consequences of breach of contract;
- Describe the legal and regulatory environment surrounding organisations in relation to consumer rights, product safety, pricing regulations and other aspects of law relating to the marketing of products and services.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to demonstrate the ability to apply core legal and transferable skills, most particularly skills of legal research, analysis, writing and oral presentations to definite factual situations and problems.
