Our 5:2 student-to-faculty ratio means that you may find yourself researching with your professors in the field, presenting with them at international conferences or co-creating games. The Institute does research with global industry leaders such as Ubisoft and runs multi-million euro EU projects with IBM and Zaha Hadid Architects.
The island has studios both large and small. Large studios based in Malta include Exient, 4A Games, and Twin Harbour Games. And small and start-up level studios are emerging such as Draw and Code and Anvil Games.
The faculty at the Institute of Digital Games are regarded as some of the leading figures within their respective international research fields with over 22,000 citations and the h-index of 170 collectively across all staff members. Prof. Yannakakis ranks in the top 0.5% of Artificial Intelligence researchers in the world (ranked 1096th out of 215,114 scientists in the field in 2020).

Tuition is free for EU students. There is an annual enrolment fee of Eur 400 and no further fees.
