Early Childhood and Primary Education

Everything starts from here

Do you love working with children and young children? Do you wish to contribute to the wellbeing of society? Do you wish to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of persons? Do you love to share your learning?

If your answer to one or more of the above questions is positive then you should consider becoming a primary school teacher. The journey of all individuals starts in Early Years and in Primary. The quality of politicians, technicians, lawyers, artists, doctors, and future parents depends on the passion and commitment of teachers, particularly Primary teachers. Likewise, the wellbeing and potential of any individual is discovered, nurtured or hindered during the primary years.

The Master in Teaching and Learning (MTL) in Early Years and Primary Education helps you develop the right attitude, and acquire the skills and knowledge to accompany children aged 5 to 11 in their learning journey. To become a teacher, you do not only need to be well versed in the arts and science of teaching but you also need to be sensitive to the requirements of every individual child and committed to social justice. You will be able to achieve this through the help of academics who continue to research and publish in the area and through the help of practicing teachers who will guide you during tutorials and during your teaching practice. The course is designed in a balanced manner between theory and practice, as well as between lectures, tutorials, personal research and hands-on practical projects.
