The programme of studies in the initial part of the course, focuses on the basics of mathematics teaching and learning. This includes study-units that discuss how one plans, prepares, delivers, reflects on, evaluates, and keep records of mathematics lessons; study-units that discuss different approaches to teaching and learning mathematics; and study units that discuss how classroom assessment could be used as a tool to support student learning. Then, the programme of studies, in the second part of the course, includes study-units on how one can personalise learning and the use of resources in the mathematics classroom.
Through classroom observations and two Teaching Practice sessions, students also get an opportunity to continuously link theory to practice while being supported by University-based and school-based mentors.
We are looking very forward to meeting you and welcoming you on board.
