Our department carries out research and provides training in the field of Product Development methodologies and technologies. Our modules, together with those administered by other departments within the Faculty of Engineering, contribute to the undergraduate bachelor degrees in engineering. We also offer postgraduate research programs to interested individuals that lead to the award of M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. In addition, we offer an M.Sc. in Integrated Product Development which has over the years attracted professionals interested in furthering their engineering background together with relevant business and management skills.

Our Mission
The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering shall endeavour to provide both students and industry with the necessary professional, academic knowledge and practical skills as well as provide support through facilities, research and technology transfer covering the different 'product life phases' in order to promote improvements in quality, cost and time-to-market whilst meeting the environmental challenges of the 21st century, factors which are all critical in achieving and maintaining a global competitive advantage.
