The salt spray (or salt fog) tester (Model: Aster 500) is used to test the corrosion resistance of metals and surface coatings. It is used both for research purposes and also for industrial applications. Salt spray testing is an accelerated corrosion test that produces a corrosive attack to coated samples in order to evaluate (mostly comparatively) the suitability of the coating for use as a protective finish. The appearance of corrosion products (rust or other oxides) is evaluated after a pre-determined period of time. Test duration depends on the corrosion resistance of the coating; generally, the more corrosion resistant the coating is, the longer the period of testing before the appearance of corrosion/rust.

The Opsytec Dr. Groebel Irradiation Chamber BS-02 (Model: 860 802) is a chamber where samples can be irradiated for a pre-defined period of time or illuminated by UV-A, UV-B, UV-C or visible light. The radiation is controlled by an Opsytec Dr. Groebel Irradiation Controller UV-Mat (Model: 820 220). The chamber can take up to two different light sources. The user can change the light source according to the type of irradiation envisaged by the test to be carried out.
