Overview

The Department of Physiotherapy within the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Malta (UM) is proud to announce its inaugural physiotherapy conference. This groundbreaking event marks a significant milestone for the Department and the broader healthcare ecosystem, highlighting the central role of physiotherapy in advancing patient rehabilitation, chronic disease management, and health promotion.

The primary purpose of this call for abstracts is to showcase the extensive research work carried out at the Department of Physiotherapy, University of Malta

Eligibility & Submission Criteria

We officially invite all physiotherapists to submit abstracts for studies carried out with the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Malta.

  • Peer Review: All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the scientific committee to ensure high academic standards.
  • Presentation Format: Poster Presentations serve as visual displays designed to facilitate dynamic knowledge exchange and professional growth.

Submission Guidelines for Original Research

Participants must adhere to the following formatting criteria:

    • Title: Must be concise and clearly reflect the research or clinical innovation.
    • Word Count: Maximum of 300 words, excluding title and author names.
    • Structure:
        • Background: State the significance of the study to Maltese physiotherapy or the broader healthcare sector.
        • Methods: Describe the research design, participants, and specific techniques or outcome measures utilized. Include mention of Ethics Committee (UREC) approval where applicable.
        • Results: Highlight the primary research outcomes and findings.
        • Conclusion: Explain the impact on patient outcomes or health promotion.

Keywords: Include 3–5 keywords for indexing.
