Airport Transfers
There is a Taxi Stand at the airport. Taxi service from the Airport is available 24 hours a day to any destination in Malta, including Valletta. Fixed rates are applicable and pre-paid tickets can be purchased from the ticket booth at Arrivals. More details about rates.
Climate and Clothing
The weather in Malta may be cold and wet at this time of year. Warm jackets and umbrellas are recommended.

Restaurants in Malta offer a wide choice of cuisine ranging from Local to Continental, Indian, Mexican, Chinese. Maltese food is heavily influenced by the Italian and Italian restaurants abound on the islands.
Dinner can cost from EUR 30 to EUR 45 per head depending on the category of restaurant. Snack bars and cafes are cheaper. One can find a variety of restaurants according to his/her own budget.

Malta offers facilities for practically all kinds of sports. Many of the leading hotels in Malta have modern health and fitness facilities.
Health
Delegates should ensure that they are covered by adequate Medical Insurance. Healthcare in Malta is of a high level conforming to European standards. Mater Dei Hospital is the state hospital. There are also private hospitals.
Language
Malta has two Official Languages: Maltese and English. English is widely spoken in Malta and will be the language of the Conference.

Shopping
Shops are usually open from 09:00 to 13:00 and 16:00 to 19:00. However, many are closed on Saturday afternoon whilst one can shop in the Shopping Malls all day and on Sundays.
Malta is renowned for its Lace, Mdina Glass and reasonably priced gold and silver items. Local honey and wine have been famous since antiquity.
