Registration Details

Registration for the COST Devotion meeting is free of charge but participants are required to fill in the registration form to indicate their participation for social events.

Deadline for application:  Monday 19 June 2023 at noon (CEST Time)

Walking Tour followed by dinner in Birgu on Monday 26 June 2023

The group will meet their tour guide at the Valletta Campus at 17:45hrs and will walk towards the ferry terminal located a few minutes' walk away. The group will the cross to Vittoriosa by ferry (weather permitting), a splendid way of experiencing the Grand Harbour. Upon arrival in Vittoriosa (or Birgu, as it is better known), the tour will proceed with a walk along the streets of this city. The name ‘Vittoriosa’ derives from the vital role the city played in the Great Siege of 1565, namely the victory of the Knights of St John and the Maltese against the Ottoman forces. A monument commemorating this victory can be admired in the main square of the city. Vittoriosa was the area first selected by the Knights to serve as headquarters of the Order, before the building of the city of Valletta.  Some of the ancient buildings have been totally rebuilt whilst others have been restored and are nowadays residences, offices or restaurants. The evening tour ends in one of these restaurants for dinner.  Transport back to Valletta after dinner will be provided.

Dinner at Nenu the Artisan Baker in Valletta (St Dominic Street) on Tuesday 27 June 2023

Group is to gather at the restaurant at 19:30hrs. 

No transport will be provided after dinner.

Price: 38 Euros per person.
