Call for Abstracts

Theme 1: Mapping and Characterizing Global OFG Systems

We invite contributions on global and regional OFG databases, spatial analysis and distribution studies, geological modeling and stratigraphic characterization of OFG systems, numerical modeling of continental shelf hydrogeology, geochemical investigations and pore fluid data analysis, and hydrogeological conceptualization of offshore aquifer systems.

Theme 2: Innovative Methods and Technologies for OFG Exploration

This theme encompasses novel field methodologies in geophysics and geochemistry, including controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) surveys, advanced seismic data acquisition and interpretation techniques, marine geophysical surveying innovations, geochemical sampling and analytical approaches, integrated multi-method exploration strategies, and emerging technologies for offshore aquifer detection and delineation.

Theme 3: From Resource to Reality: Utilization, Economics, and Feasibility

Submissions may address extraction and desalination technologies, economic modeling and cost-benefit analyses, infrastructure requirements and engineering solutions, case studies of OFG development projects, resource assessment and volume estimation methodologies, and technical feasibility studies for OFG utilization.

Theme 4: Sustainable Management and Governance of OFG Resources

We encourage contributions on regulatory frameworks and legal considerations, environmental impact assessments, stakeholder engagement and community perspectives, sustainable extraction and monitoring strategies, policy development for transboundary resources, and integration of OFG into water security planning.

The deadline for submission is 2 February 2026 (noon CET)
