Prof. Glenn Richey is the Harbert Eminent Scholar in Supply Chain Management at Auburn University's Harbert College of Business. He is an accomplished expert in management, particularly Supply Chain Management and International Business. Glenn’s current research focuses on the application of technology in logistics and supply chain management. He has published extensively on the topic of organisational learning, in leading journals like the Journal of World Business and the International Business Review and the Journal of International Marketing.  

Glenn has published 100+ peer reviewed papers in leading academic journals, and his work has been cited extensively by researchers and practitioners alike. In addition to his academic pursuits, Glenn is actively engaged in industry, collaborating with colleagues from various institutions and organizations across the globe. He strongly advocates for field-based pedagogy and is committed to advancing the field through innovative research and teaching.

Before entering academia, Glenn worked for 10 years in marketing and distribution.

Dr Joe Schembri is a researcher, trainer and advisor in International Business and Economic Development. He has a PHD from the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow with a dissertation on how knowledge-intensive firms develop international opportunities. Joe worked in strategy, policy and international business development in the public sector prior to joining academia and founded a training company prior to that. 

Following a first degree from the University of Malta, Joe set up a specialised training company. Two years later he joined the private secretariat of a senior Minister and acted as policy coordinator on economic affairs such as privatisation, public entity restructuring, information technology and the economic development of sectors such as maritime and aviation. In 2011 Joe joined Malta Enterprise as a Chief Officer responsible for trade and investment and moved to TradeMalta when this Private Public Partnership was set up in 2015. At TradeMalta Joe was involved in strategy and quality, as well as EU-funded programmes.


At the University of Glasgow, Joe worked with Prof Pavlos Dimitratos, Prof Trevor Buck and Dr Margaret Fletcher on a dissertation which used multiple case studies to investigate the internationalisation trajectories of knowledge intensive firms based in Malta. During the doctoral process, Joe’s work has won an award for ‘The most original new work’ from the Academy of International Business (UK & Ireland). Joe’s research has been published in the International Business Review and the Journal of World Business. He has been teaching and supervising students at the University of Malta for the last 4 years, as a resident academic within the Faculty for Economics, Management and Accountancy.

Dr. Colm Reilly is an experienced professional with a track record and international experience in Economic Development including Industrial Cluster Development, R&D, International Trade and Foreign Direct Investment and Entrepreneurship. His experiences have been initially informed by multi-national companies (Novartis, Fujitsu, and Electrolux). In addition, he has established three start-up companies – Eureto, Aviareto and BiotherapeuticsMD - which operate to this day. His international experience is in Europe, North America, and the Middle East where he has run significant operations.

In the past 15 years, Colm has worked as a senior executive in a global consulting organisation. Many of the operations he created were the first of their kind with no existing template such as the UK Foreign Direct Investment national operation, the integration of Research Councils, the first Japanese overseas initiative to attract distinct supply chain companies, the development of 9 Industrial Clusters for a G20 economy focussing on downstream chemicals, alternative energy supplies (wind and solar) and new engineering solutions for mining and drilling. 

Colm has also facilitated several programmes which seek to derive distinct bespoke solutions amongst diverse partners. These include the Globe Forum, Asbar World Forum, World Economic Forum. He has worked with Nestle, Lufthansa Technik, BASF, Atlas Copco and other leading European companies on developing new market approaches. His work on company value propositions and pricing have been condensed into two books The Pricing Puzzle and Value Price and Sustained Competitiveness. These books build on the earlier publication “Beyond a culture of Contest – how companies treat customers for renewed competitiveness”. His new publication “A global adventure – how SMEs learn to export” will be published in December 2024.
