Policy science is interdisciplinary in its nature; it is affected by social, geographical and economic conditions as well as cultural values, ideological leanings and grounded contextualisations. Equipped with a versatile array of academics and practitioners, the Department of Public Policy provides students with the empirical, analytical and conceptual skills necessary for evidence-based policy design, ethical leadership, public management acumen, good governance and political stewardship.
To bridge the gap between academia and real life, our Department promotes direct links with Maltese, European and international institutions as well as with the public and private sectors through fieldwork, key-note guest speakers, study visits, policy placements and applied research assignments.
