The Institute aims to operate on three activity axes, namely the teaching, research, and national matters.
In teaching, the Institute aims to attract new students to the University through the delivery of academic study units.
In research, the Institute aims to strengthen its position as a valued player in the field of aeronautics and transport within the European Research Area. This is achieved through formal collaboration with international industry partners, research centres and universities. The research activities of the Institute are detailed in the Research section.
In national matters, the Institute aims to play a key role as a high technology, research and innovation platform by working with national stakeholders to promote and contribute actively to national capacities in the aerospace sector. This includes close cooperation with the national aviation cluster (established through an initiative of Malta Enterprise) and the National Aerospace Centre.
