Connected computer devices are everywhere, and in the department of communications and computer engineering we work on communications and on computer systems and devices. The undergraduate and postgraduate students we prepare are able to do research and work on communication systems, which make our world connected, and on computer systems large and small, even as small as a phone (a communicating pocket computer).
In our research and teaching, we do signal processing, which is necessary
to analyse and design systems; coding and transmission of multimedia over fixed and wireless networks; energy-efficient cloud computing; computer vision and machine learning; and implementations on platforms such as GPUs and embedded systems.
Our department contributes to the B.Sc. Computer Engineering, B.Sc. Computing Science, M.Sc. ICT in Telecommunications, and M.Sc. ICT in Signal Processing and Machine Learning. We supervise Ph.D. students in various research areas, and we also support other degree programmes.
