REGISTRATION DETAILS
Registration for Main Session 2026 Appeals and Synoptics of SEC Unit 3 will be accepted in person from 07:30 till 12:00 noon on the following weekday dates:
Main Session Appeals – Monday 17 August to Wednesday 19 August 2026 noon
A fee of EUR 35 (by card or cheque) per Subject Unit applies. No late registrations for appeals will be accepted.
Synoptics – Monday 17 August to Wednesday 2 September 2026 noon
Late registrations will only be accepted against payment of EUR 35 (by card or cheque) per Subject Unit from Thursday 3 September to Friday 4 September 2026 noon.
Note: Registrations for the second synoptic of SEC Unit 2 in Agribusiness, Engineering Technology, Hairdressing & Beauty, Health & Social Care, Hospitality, Information Technology, Media Literacy Education, and Retail – by candidates who did not apply in January 2026 – will be accepted as an exception during this period against payment of a very late administrative fee.
The registration form (Vocational Subjects Unit Appeals and Synoptic Form – Form H) is downloadable from this address: https://www.um.edu.mt/matsec/current-session/forms/applications. Candidates studying in Malta are to submit the form in person at MATSEC, paying any fees by card. Candidates studying in Gozo are to submit the form in person at the University Gozo Campus in Xewkija, paying any fees through bank transfer or by cheque.
The registration form should be completed before coming over to MATSEC or to the University Gozo Campus, ensuring that all details are correct (including whether the Subject Unit is SEC or SEAC).
IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
Candidates are required to present their ID Card/Passport both when registering for appeals and/or synoptic assessments, and on the day of the actual exam/s.
Legal guardians/parents can register on behalf of candidates, presenting a copy of the candidate’s ID Card/Passport together with their own ID Card/Passport and the registration form. In such cases, the Guardian’s Declaration (at the bottom of the form) should also be filled in.
TIMETABLES
MATSEC will send individual timetables – including the specific day, the time, and the venue of each exam – by post in October to candidates who have registered for synoptic assessment/s. Any candidate who does not receive the individual timetable by the week of the synoptic session, which will be held towards the end of October – beginning of November 2026, is kindly asked to contact MATSEC as soon as possible.
Candidates who do not present their ID Card/Passport, together with their individual timetable, on the day of the exam will NOT be allowed to sit for the exam.
UNIT RESULTS
Results of SEC Unit 3, carried out during scholastic year 2025-2026, are communicated to candidates by their school. Candidates are to seek guidance from their school, in due time, should they have any queries in this regard.
