OAR@UM is UM’s institutional repository that serves as a platform for authors and researchers wanting to upload their research output for open access. Open access enhances research dissemination and visibility and eventually augments the researcher's academic reputation and that of UM.

The session provides academics and researchers with a concise overview of open access and the benefits of uploading research to OAR@UM.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will

  • identify the differences between Open and Restricted Access.
  • recognise the types of material that should be uploaded to OAR@UM.
  • understand the OAR@UM workflows.
  • know how to upload material to OAR@UM.
