By becoming a volunteer with the University of Malta MRI Research Platform (UMRI), you can play an important role in advancing local MRI research.
Joining as a volunteer simply means joining our Google Group. Through this group, you’ll be informed whenever new research projects are looking for participants. Each study may have different goals — from exploring how the brain works to testing new MRI methods — but the common feature is that all volunteers will receive an MRI scan as part of the research.
MRI is a safe imaging technique that does not use radiation. The main consideration is data security. At UMRI, we use strict pseudo-anonymisation and secure storage systems to minimise the risk and ensure your data is protected. Participation is always voluntary, and you may choose to withdraw at any time.
