Mark C. Mifsud graduated BEd. (Hons.) in biology in 1993, obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management in 1994 and an M.Sc. in 1996 from the University of Malta. Mark furthered his studies with a Post Graduate Certificate in Ecological Modelling from the University of Catalunja, Spain, in 2003, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education for Sustainability from the University of Southbank, London, in 2004. Mark was awarded a PhD degree in Sustainable Development and Education at the University of Bath, UK in 2009.
Mark works within the Centre for Environmental Education and research (CEER) and is the co-ordinator of the Masters in Education for Sustainable Development. He also lectures Environmental Education and Environmental Science Units to undergraduates and graduates at the University of Malta. Mark is a scientific tutor on a Masters Degree in Environmental Management of School Buildings with the University of Ca Foscari, Venice and also teaches ESD units at the University of YaoundÃ©, Cameroon.
Mark was entrusted as a consultant on a number of private and government projects and was appointed member on a number of national and international boards. Mark is currently a Member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature Commission on Education and Communication (CEC).
Mark', research interests are mainly in the areas of Environmental Education, Sustainability and Environmental Issues and Education for Sustainable Development. He is a reviewer for a number of international journals including Environmental Education Research and the Journal of Science and Environmental Education.
