Dr. Roberta Sammut is Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Malta. She graduated with a B.Sc. in Nursing (Hons.) from the University of Malta, an M.Sc. in Diabetes Care from the University of South Wales and an M.Sc. and PhD in Nursing from King’s College London. She is a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Dr. Sammut teaches medical nursing to undergraduate nursing students and research methods and systematic reviewing to students on the Masters programmes within the Faculty of Health Sciences. She supervises dissertations at undergraduate and post-graduate level including at doctoral level.

She has been involved in several Erasmus+ projects over the years, including the TUNING T-MEDA project which focused on establishing core competencies for nurse education courses in North Africa and the Middle East, the iSPAD project which focused on developing a training programme for nurse educators in the use of simulation and simulation scenarios to be used in undergraduate nurse education and the CALOHEE project whose aim is to develop methods to assess whether university students develop the required competences during their studies.

Dr. Sammut is Associate Editor for the International Journal of Nursing Studies. She is also a member of the Board of Management of id-Dar tal-Providenza a Church run organization which provides residential services for persons living with disability.
