Romina joined the Office of the Registrar in November 2008 as an administrative officer, after having worked within the Faculty of Education for several years, at different administrative levels. She was promoted to the grade of Assistant Registrar in November 2018.

She is mainly responsible for drafting regulations and bye-laws; participating in working groups reviewing general regulations applicable across the University; preparing regulations and bye-laws in Maltese and English for promulgation and publication in the Malta Government Gazette, and on the University website; answering queries from University academic and administrative staff regarding the interpretation of regulations and bye-laws; drafting of FAQs and guidelines with regards to general regulations including students' progression; giving training regarding drafting of regulations and bye-laws, procedures for boards of examiners of bachelor and master dissertations, and students' progression; and overseeing the running of the Stipends Office. Romina is also a member of the Students’ Maintenance Grants Board within the Ministry for Education and Employment.

Romina obtained the Diploma in Management Studies in November 2010.
