Terminology

In line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability (UNCRPD), disability is understood as:

an evolving concept and ... results from the interaction between persons with impairments and attitudinal and environmental barriers that hinders their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others’ (Preamble (e)). 

 
Therefore, any reasonable accommodation and access arrangements apply to individuals with physical, sensory or mental impairments; medical conditions; or specific learning difficulties. The term “disability” is taken to encompass all of the above.
