Master of Gerontology and Geriatrics

Discover your true potential with our Master of Gerontology and Geriatrics programme!

The Master of Gerontology and Geriatrics, launched in 1989 by the United Nations International Institute on Ageing, addresses the societal impact of increased longevity. The programme blends applied and theoretical knowledge through a biopsychosocial lens to examine ageing's societal effects. It emphasizes critical thinking, research skills, and professional identity development in gerontology and geriatrics. Key outcomes include understanding demographic trends, heterogeneity in older populations, and caregiver challenges. Students apply ageing concepts in practical settings, master research methodologies, and prepare for interdisciplinary teamwork, fostering a comprehensive approach to gerontological practice and theory.
