This programme runs as a full-time two-year course designed to prepare students for a successful career in Clinical Psychology. The taught component includes topics such as psychopathology, psychotherapeutic approaches, and psychological assessment. Trainees submit a research-based dissertation in preparation for the implementation of evidence-based interventions in their practice. The course also includes a supervised placement in hospitals and mental health clinics where trainees have the opportunity to develop skills in client interaction, psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention. On completion of the MPsy and after two years of supervised practice, graduates may apply for a warrant in Clinical Psychology in Malta.

This training grounds students in the philosophical underpinnings of counselling psychology. Trainees are supported in developing a critical understanding of contemporary therapeutic practice by attending diverse adult and child placements. Placements have included educational settings and specialised services in the fields of substance abuse and eating disorders, amongst others. Trainees attend regular individual and group supervision. Taught study-units cover topics such as lifespan development, trauma and research methods. Students complete a research-based dissertation in their second year of studies. Upon completion of the course and following two years of supervised practice, graduates may apply for a warrant in Counselling Psychology.

This course enables you to develop the attitudes, knowledge and skills required to work as an Educational Psychologist. You will gain a deep and critical understanding of the learning and mental health challenges of children and adolescents, and of how families and schools can facilitate their growth and wellbeing. Through a supervised placement in school psychological services, you will acquire the skills for psychological assessment and for implementation of interventions with the children themselves, their families and educators, to enable healthy personal, cognitive and socio-emotional development. Your research skills will be enhanced through the completion of a dissertation. This course, followed by two years of supervised practice, will enable you to obtain a warrant as an Educational Psychologist.

This course equips students with critical knowledge, skills, and values essential for a successful career in forensic psychology. The programme covers core areas such as criminal behaviour, offender assessment and intervention while exploring the intersection between psychology and the Criminal Justice System. Students also have the opportunity to conduct in-depth research on a specific topic of interest through a dissertation. Students gain valuable hands-on experience through supervised field placements, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world forensic settings. The completion of the MPsy, followed by two years of supervised practice enables graduates to obtain a warrant as forensic psychologists in Malta.

This course equips students with the knowledge, values, attitudes, and skills required to practice as a Health Psychologist. Using a lifespan biopsychosocial approach, the programme includes taught units on theories and research in health, health systems, and well-being. Students will complete weekly supervised field placements to develop skills for working at individual, group, system, and societal levels. Training in research methods will lead to the submission of a final-year dissertation. Upon completion of the course, followed by two years of supervised practice, students will be eligible to obtain a warrant as a Health Psychologist.
