The Master of Social Work (MSW) Course is a professional non-fee paying degree* for graduates from other fields. The MSW provides entry into the warranted profession of social work . The degree is grounded in a theoretical component focusing mainly on social work theory. It prepares students to embrace the values, knowledge and skills needed to become competent social workers. The MSW programme also has research and practice components. Placements consist of practical on-site supervised placements in social welfare agencies. On completion of the degree, students will be able to utilise social work theories and methods of social work to practice with individuals, families, groups and communities.
