Interact with the University Semiconductors Competence Centre (USCC)
The USCC offers support in the University’s areas of specialisations in the field of semiconductors to industry stakeholders, including start-ups and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SMEs)
Areas of interaction between the USCC and industry include:
- Support in writing funding research proposals: the University of Malta has significant experience in writing proposals for funding in the area of semiconductors. The USCC can provide the necessary support, enabling better participation of SMEs in research projects.
- Provide technical consultancy in the area of semiconductors to address challenges being experienced by specific companies.
- Support local SMEs and other companies in developing semiconductor solutions particularly through the use of high-end Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) development boards, including System-on-Chip (SoC) development boards. The use of FPGAs enables quick development and testing of new designs, significantly reducing time-to-market for new products.
