Important information about the academic dress to be worn during your graduation ceremony

(No exceptions will be made)

Each awarding Faculty/Institute/ Centre/School has its own academic dress. Given the specialised gowns and colours used for the ceremonies, it is important that only gowns from the University of Malta are used for these graduation ceremonies.

How to book

Kindly book your academic dress as early as possible by accessing this link: Booking Form

Please make sure to fill in all the details correctly to ensure that you are given the right academic dress on the day of your graduation.

Prices and RIDT donations

The academic dress (which includes the gown, the hood and the trencher/biretta) can be booked for €50 (inclusive of VAT). This is an early bird offer until noon of Friday 18 February, 2022. After this date, the price for rental will be €65 (inclusive of VAT) and online booking will remain available until noon of Friday 18 March, 2022. These booking fees include a €3 donation to the University’s Research, Innovation & Development Trust (RIDT). While you may opt out of this initiative, your generosity is greatly appreciated and donations will go towards the funding of specialised medical research. All donations will be acknowledged.

Failure to book your academic dress

If you fail to book your academic dress online by the stipulated date, you may be refused entry into the Church and will have to graduate in absentia. In exceptional circumstances graduands who, for justified reasons, had not booked their academic dress online may obtain the academic dress on the day against payment of €100 (inclusive of VAT). Please note that only cash payments will be accepted on the day.
