The Department of Italian is concerned primarily with teaching and research in the following areas:
  • Medieval, Modern, and Contemporary Literature
  • Italian Language and Linguistics
  • Film Studies
  • Popular Culture
  • Anglo-Italian Comparative Literature
  • Italo-Maltese Comparative Literature and Linguistics.

The Department offers undergraduate and postgraduate study-units to students reading for the B.A. and B.A.(Hons.) in Italian, B.A. in Theology and Human Studies, Bachelor of European Studies, Bachelor of Humanities, Certificate in Language Proficiency in Italian, M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.
