The Standing Seminar of Spanish was established in 2021 by the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies and the Embassy of Spain in Malta. It reflects both the Department's expertise in the field of Spanish Language Teaching and the recent growth of the subject in all educational levels in Malta.
The seminar meets every school term bringing together teachers of Spanish from schools and colleges across Malta, teacher trainees, and students of Spanish. Our meetings are intent on stimulating reflection on methodology and praxis in Spanish language teaching. Colleagues share experiences, ideas and teacher resources with a focus to develop new directions in the field.
The Seminar also provides the venue for other activities related to Spanish studies organised by the Department and/or the Embassy, such as public lectures and workshops.
