Online Application Facility
The University encourages the completion of online applications. Applying online means that applications are available 24/7, can be submitted from the comfort of your home and the micro-credential/s fee can be paid through a secure online payment system.
Which information do I need to apply online?
If you have started an application and do not have the required information at hand, you will always have the option in each page to save the inputted details and continue later.
Eligibility
Micro-credentials in the Programme are open to persons who are deemed to have the ability to follow such micro-credentials with profit. Acceptance may be subject to a short interview. Certain qualifications and/or experience may be specified for particular micro-credentials. Successful applicants will be informed accordingly shortly after they submit their application.
Third-country nationals should already be in possession of a residence permit in Malta in order to apply to follow micro-credential/s offered in the Programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. Kindly note that as per LN 29 of 2008, residence permits (for study purposes) can only be issued to students who have been accepted and admitted to pursue, as their main activity, a full-time course at the University of Malta. Accordingly, residence permits (for study purposes) cannot be issued if a student is registered only for Micro-credential/s within the Programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Meeting for accepted applicants
An information meeting for accepted applicants will be held before the start of every semester. Accepted applicants will receive information about this with their letter of acceptance.
Payment of micro-credential/s fees
Payment of micro-credential/s fees may be effected via a secure payment facility. Once you click the ‘Pay to Submit Application’ button which is found at the bottom of the page in the online application, you will be prompted to input the card details which include the card number, card expiry date, CVV number (if paying using VISA) and the card holder’s name.
Fees are fully refunded only if the micro-credential is not offered due to an insufficient number of applicants or if the applicant is not accepted to follow the micro-credentials after a short interview. If an applicant withdraws before the micro-credential starts or within the first month of the semester, the fee is refunded but an administrative fee of EUR 20 is retained. After the first month of the semester, fees are non-refundable.
