Applications for our February and October intakes have been officially open since the third week in November. You can submit your application online. The deadlines for submission of applications vary according to the intake and courses. We encourage all international applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible. This is especially important if you require a visa to travel and eventually stay in Malta.

The Diploma in Commerce is held at the University of Malta ֠Gozo Campus only.

The aim of the course is to introduce you to Economics, Management and Accountancy, Tourism Studies and IT and to prepare you further studies leading to the B.Com degree.

This programme of study is governed by the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019 and by the Bye-Laws for the award of Diploma in Commerce – Dip. Com. – under the auspices of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy.

By the end of the course you will:

  • Gain a basic understanding of the concepts of systems theory, information technology and application software.
  • Possess a suitable background in financial accounting and be acquainted with the fundamental of cost accounting.
  • Acquire insight into the fundamentals of cost/management accounting.
  • Become aware of the main sources of both short-term and long-term finance available to businesses, as well as the benefits and costs associated with each.
  • Have a strong foundation in the core interests and methodologies of the inter-disciplinary field of public policy.
  • Be able to critically analyse and appraise public policies and their effects on businesses and society.
