DESCRIPTION The Intermedia Studio 3 will cover two major research areas – Mixed and Multi Media Drawing and Painting, and Supporting Studies: Visual Research and Sketchbooks. Students explore cross-mediatic practice across both tangible and digital media. They undergo this practice through a visual research methodology that includes the production of a reflective journal and the use of a variety of methods of sketchbook entries. The study-unit builds on previous study units to also include the use of time and space as creative tools for narrative production.

Study-unit Aims:

- Foster a methodology of inter and trans-mediatic practice;
- Give students the required skills to undergo visual research through the use of a reflective journal and sketchbooks;
- Foster a culture of critical, self-reflection and peer evaluation.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will:
- be familiar with a variety of media and interactions;
- be familiar with visual research, journal entry and sketchbook keeping.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will:
- be conversant with the mixed media applications;
- be able to document the artistic process;
- be able to generate visual research;
- be able to initiate critical, self-evaluation.
