| DESCRIPTION | Academic research is an international endeavour par excellence and the process of internationalization has only accelerated in recent years. Young scholars’ future prospects in no small measure depend on their ability to successfully build and maintain a network of research contacts at the international level. This workshop discusses various types of benefits of international academic/professional networks and different strategies for building them. OUTCOMES. By the end of this workshop, doctoral researchers should be more aware of: - explain what an international academic network is and why such networks are important for teaching, research and publishing; - enumerate various - more formal as well as informal – strategies for building networks; - discuss which methods may work better depending on their individual situation; - critically evaluate the importance of joining international networks for the advancement of academic carriers. |
