DESCRIPTION This study-unit covers range of skills in group facilitation processes, with emphasis on conflict analysis and resolution approaches to improve group communication. Includes skill-building exercises.

Study-Unit Aims:

- To prepare students with basic skills to support a variety of conflict resolution interventions.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit, the student will be able to:
- learn the principles and ethics of participatory decision-making,
- learn how to assess group dynamics, development and goals,
- understand the role of power, importance of culture, gender, marginalization and voice.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit, the student will be able to:
- practice logistics (agenda setting, time, ground rules),
- practice tools, tactics, and strategies, and
- develop greater self-awareness.
