| DESCRIPTION | This study-unit seeks to complement the critical aims of ENG2181 and to extend the survey of Modernist fiction. This study-unit complements ENG2181 by focusing on modern techniques in the novels of Henry James and Joseph Conrad. In particular the role of the fallible narrator and point-of-view will be explored. The political aspect of George Orwell’s writing will be discussed. Students will be expected to prepare presentations on topics relating to the study-unit.
