| DESCRIPTION | This study-unit is a continuation of German A2.1. At the end of the unit, students will be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Apart from everyday-life situations, this unit introduces basic skills of expressing opinions and attitudes and referring to past events. The study-unit is based on a communicative approach in class with a focus on applied German, starting from everyday-life situations to covering more broad topics as well as more specialised language use. Training includes all language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, which are practiced according to the levels achieved. Study-unit Aims: The study-unit is designed to enhance students' language skills in speaking, listening, writing and reading German in relation to concrete everyday-life situations at beginner level A2.2. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - show a profound understanding of correct German language use (reading, listening, speaking, writing) on an A2 level; - understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (amongst others: employment). 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - actively use a wider vocabulary and more complex sentence structures; - express opinions and attitudes and referring to past events.
