| DESCRIPTION | In the first part the two-way influences exerted by Italian and the major European languages will be reviewed, especially historical and contemporary contacts between Italian and English. The second part focuses on the Romance element in the Maltese language, analyzing the modes of adoption of Sicilian and Italian elements, and will give students the opportunity to carry out original research in the field.
