DESCRIPTION | - Process Design - Manufacturability - Critical control strategy - Monitoring strategy - Productivity improvement methodologies and evaluation - Documentation - Batch recording technologies - Pharmaceuticals and Pricing Visits to a pharmaceutical plant. Study-unit Aims: - To obtain an overview on the design of pharmaceutical processes; - To describe management aspects within the pharmaceutical industry as related to pharmaceutical manufacturing; - To present information related to pharmaceutical processes in a scientific manner, with the appropriate referencing system. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - describe activities in the production department; - draw up documentation related to activities in a production department. 2. Skills By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - identify strategies for the control of operations; - identify documentation used within the pharmaceutical industry; - identify process requirements for the production of pharmaceutical products.
