The Edward de Bono Institute for Creative Thinking and Innovation at the University of Malta organised a memorial lecture to commemorate the life and legacy of Prof. Dr Edward de Bono. This was held on Zoom on Thursday 2 May 2024 from 17:00 to 18:00 (GMT+2), and featured a keynote address by Prof. Giovanni Emanuele CorazzaProf. of the University of Bologna, Italy.

About Prof. Giovanni Emanuele Corazza

Giovanni Emanuele Corazza is a Full Prof. at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, founder of the Marconi Institute for Creativity (MIC), and Member of the Board of the International Society for the Study of Creativity and Innovation (ISSCI).

He holds a PhD in Telecommunications and Microelectronics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and a PhD in Psychology from the Université de Paris. His research interests are focused on the development of the Dynamic Creativity Framework based on the Dynamic Definition of Creativity.

In his lecture, Prof. Corazza started from the anecdotal narrative of his first encounter with Prof. Edward de Bono’s work and how it influenced his interest in creativity studies.

He then showed how one of the techniques from the Lateral Thinking toolbox can be used to justify passing from the static “standard definition of creativity” to the “dynamic definition of creativity”.

The fundamental implications of adopting this definition to give life to the dynamic creativity framework will be discussed, along with the introduction of a dynamic model for the creative process, the DA VINCI model and method.
