Generating Awareness for Migrant Experiences

Generating Awareness for Migrant Experiences

GMD is currently implementing GAME – Generating Awareness for Migrant Experiences, an Erasmus+ project running from March 2026 to May 2027, developed in partnership with We Are Muesli, an independent game design studio based in Milan. The project aims to promote new narratives about migration through the co-creation of a video game called "In Their Shoes – Malta". At the heart of GAME is the GAME Co-Creation Lab, a workshop taking place in Malta in November (2 days and a half, during the weekend), where young people aged 18–30 with a migration background residing in Malta will actively shape the narrative content of the game by sharing their stories, experiences, and perspectives.

As a co-funded EU project, participation is entirely free of charge — there are no fees of any kind for participants or partner organisations. The video game itself will also be freely available to download on major gaming platforms upon its release at the end of the project.

Survey: Within the GAME project, we have also launched a community survey that targets young people aged 18–30 with a migration background living in Malta. The survey collects information on their daily lives, challenges, sense of belonging, and identity, and will feed into both a public report on the Maltese migration context and the co-creation process of the game.

It takes approximately 8-10 minutes to complete. All responses are fully anonymous.
