  1. The Department of Technology and Entrepreneurship Education requires the services of a Research Support Officer I

 

  1. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree.

 

  1. This post will be for a period from 15.02.26 until 15.10.26 and will be expected to work a total maximum of 70 hours. The Research Support Officer II will be remunerated at the rate of €13.08 per hour.

 

  1. The selected candidate must be living in Malta for the period of employment.

 

  1. Candidates must submit their letter of application, a copy of their curriculum vitae and a copy of their certificates to diane.vassallo@um.edu.mt by not later than Friday, 20th February 2026.

 

Further Information

 

  1. The following is a list of tasks that the appointee may be required to:
    1. Assist in conducting research under the guidance of a senior researcher;
    2. Collect, analyse, and interpret data from various sources, including quantitative and qualitative methods;
    3. Prepare literature reviews and summaries related to research topics;
    4. Assist in drafting, editing, and formatting academic papers, reports, and presentations;
    5. Maintain proper documentation and records of research activities and findings;
    6. Ensure adherence to research ethics, data protection policies, and institutional guidelines;
    7. Perform any other duties relevant to the research project as assigned by the senior researcher.

 

  1. The appointee is expected to work:
    1. on a part-time basis; and
    2. at such places and during such hours as may be determined by the University authorities.

 

  1. The selection procedure will involve:
    1. scrutiny of qualifications and experience claimed and supported by testimonials and/or certificates (copies to be included with the application);
    2. short-listing; and
    3. an interview and / or extended interview.

 

  1. The appointment will be subject to a probationary period, and to the provisions of the Statutes, Regulations and Bye-Laws of the University which are now or which may hereafter be in force.
