The Department of Mechanical Engineering centres its teaching and research activities around the areas of Applied Mechanics and Thermofluids Engineering. These find a vast range of applications in industry and within the research projects carried out in the Department.
Examples include: Aerospace, Automotive, Biomechanics, Robotics and Automation, Energy, Power Plant Structural Integrity, Maritime, Building Services.
Our Department participates in various research projects carried out through industrial collaborations, national and EU research frameworks. We offer study-units in diverse degree programmes ranging from the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) to postgraduate and doctoral degree courses.
