Ian Caruana is a BSc (Hons) in IT (AI) student completing his studies in November. Passionate about applying AI in the Maltese context, he co-authored work on Maltese sentiment analysis published in LREC. For his FYP, he explored wav2vec-BERT with shallow language model fusion for state-of-the-art Maltese automatic speech recognition.

Julia Curmi completed a BSc (Hons) in Software Development at the University of Malta with a keen interest in data science and AI. Her final-year project applied these interests to public health data analysis. She works at Transport Malta's Intelligent Transport Systems department and plans to pursue an MSc in Computer Science.
