The role of a Student Representative
Student representatives attend and participate in Board meetings and other functions, and present the students' voice. Students may contact their representative should they require advice or to discuss any complaints they may wish to air. Student representatives on Boards of Studies deal mainly with issues related to a specific programme of studies, while broader issues are best referred to the student representatives on the Institute Board.
Board of the Institute
- Mr Jan Proschek was elected Student Representative on the Board of the Institute for a two-year term with effect from 7 November 2024.

Since no nominations were received in response to the notice issued on 20 October 2025, the post of second Student Representative on this Board remains vacant.
Boards of Studies
According to the provisions of the University's Regulations for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Awards, up to two representatives may be elected by and from among the students enrolled on each of the Institute's current courses.
Diploma in Agriculture
- Mr Carmel Hili was elected Student Representative on the Board of Studies of the Diploma in Agriculture for a one-year period effective from 17 November October 2025.
