The World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Health Systems and Policies in Small States (MAT-2) aims to support WHO in advancing research, policy development, and capacity-building initiatives tailored to the unique challenges faced by small countries and states. The re-designation of MAT-2 aligns with the European Programme of Work (EPW 2) and the Global Programme of Work (GPW 14) action plans, ensuring a strategic focus on health systems resilience, climate and health, and confronting the silent epidemic of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

 

Aims

  • To support the World Health Organization (WHO) in identifying a climate and health strategy based on a planetary health approach for small countries and beyond.
  • To support the World Health Organization (WHO) in assessing and addressing Obesity in Small countries and states
  • To support the World Health Organization (WHO) in strengthening digital health capacity in Small Countries and States
