Check your Zoom recordings and identify those recordings that you need to use beyond the retention period. If you want to store a copy of some recordings on your computer, refer to FAQ 3. If you need to reuse a Zoom lecture recording/s during the next academic year, refer to FAQ 4.
Follow these steps to download and reuse Zoom recordings in 2021/22:
Download the recording/s as explained in FAQ 3.
Wait until the VLE 2021/22 is launched - early in September. Upload the recording/s to the Panopto folder corresponding to the 2021/22 study-unit area in the VLE by following the instructions in the Uploading media files to Panopto [PDF]quick guide.
Follow these steps to download and reuse Zoom recordings in 2020/21:
Download the recording/s as explained in FAQ 3.
Upload the recording/s to the Panopto folder corresponding to the 2020/21 study-unit area in the VLE by following the instructions in the Uploading media files to Panopto [PDF] quick guide.
It is strongly recommended that you communicate with the alternative host to check what should be done with these recordings. If you do not take action, these will be automatically deleted as per Zoom retention period.
Once the recording is deleted from the Zoom Cloud storage, access will be lost. You may choose to download the recording as per FAQ 3 and share it via alternative online hosting services.
After 1 year, the recordings in the Zoom Cloud are placed in your Zoom account Trash folder for an additional 30 days. You will receive a notification from Zoom 7 days before the recording is permanently deleted from the Trash, in case you want to recover the recording from the Trash temporarily to download a copy of it.
