This session provides a practical overview of the patenting process - from initial filing to international protection, publication, and entry into the national phase. Participants will explore the ideal timing for responding to patent office actions, the critical importance of accurately identifying inventors and co-owners, and the procedures involved in patent abandonment and assignment. The session will also guide participants through the required University of Malta IP forms and highlight the value of patents in enabling licensing and commercialisation opportunities.
