Research activity within the School of Performing Arts is organised around three Research Groups. These aim at creating bridges between specialised expertise and interdisciplinary research, while also offering possibilities to create networks and collaborations with entities beyond the School and the University of Malta. The Research Groups are:

P21 21st Century Studies in Performance

CaP Culture and Performance

PAHH Performing Arts History and Historiography

The School also organises its own Research Seminar Series: more information on these can be accessed here.

Interested scholars and practitioners who would like to share their research within these Seminar Series or discuss any other research aspect should contact Dr Stefan Aquilina.

The School of Performing Arts also organises an international Annual Conference – the theme for 2019 is 'Hybrid Practices: Methodologies, Histories, and Performance'. The keynote speakers are:

Anne Bogart, Co-founder and Artistic Director – SITI Company, US

Prof. Nicola Dibben, Department of Music, University of Sheffield, UK

Dr Royona Mitra, Reader in Dance and Theatre, Brunel University London, UK
