Mr. Adrian Agius carried out his postgraduate training in Otolaryngology in the United Kingdom and is Senior Lecturer in ENT at the University of Malta. He was involved in the setting up of MCh in General Surgery and MSc in laparoscopic surgery at the University.

He has served as President of the Malta Association of Otolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons between 2010 and 2018. He is in his second term as Secretary General of the European Union of Medical Specialists in Otorhinolaryngology (UEMS-ORL) and is an examiner for the European Board. He is also the chairman for subspecialty training in Rhinology at the UEMS-ORL and was involved in pan-European Rhinology fellowships coordinated by the UEMS and the Confederation of European Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He has directed the Mediterranean Rhinoplasty course under the auspices of the Malta Institute for Medical Education. Mr. Agius has also served on the Malta Specialist Accreditation Committee.

He has published several scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals and is active in postgraduate training.

His main clinical interests include rhinoplasty and sinus disease.
His research interests include ciliary studies in nose and middle ear, symptoms and criteria for the diagnosis of chronic sinusitis, and also the differentiation of facial pain into rhinogenic and non-rhinogenic origin.
